Lisan is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Data We Collect
Profile data: first name, avatar, learning goal, declared Arabic level and daily time preference.
Usage data: completed lessons and exercises, scores, streak, mastered letters and words, learning time.
Technical data: device type, OS version, anonymized identifiers and technical logs.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Personalize your learning path based on your level and goal.
- Track and display your progress, stats and achievements.
- Send daily reminders if you opt in.
- Improve the app's content and experience.
We never sell or rent your personal data.
3. Advertising
The free version of Lisan is funded by advertising served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Ltd). Before starting a lesson, a vocabulary step or a game, you may choose to watch a short rewarded video ad; a banner may also appear on the home screen. Lisan Premium subscribers see no ads.
To serve and measure ads, Google and its certified advertising partners may process: your advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allowed tracking, device and network data (model, OS version, language, IP address and the approximate location derived from it), and your interactions with ads.
On first launch in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent banner (Google's consent management platform) lets you accept, refuse or customize the use of your data for advertising. Without your consent, ads are non-personalized. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ads consent, and limit tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Children's Privacy
Lisan is suitable for children and adults. We collect no sensitive data and never share personal information for commercial purposes. Advertising follows Google's ad policies and, absent consent, is non-personalized. Purchases are protected by App Store authentication. We comply with GDPR and applicable child-protection rules.
5. Data Sharing
Your data may be processed by our technical providers solely to operate the service: EU-based hosting and database, Cloudflare R2 for audio files, Google AdMob for advertising (see section 3), and analytics/attribution tools (PostHog, TikTok) to measure app usage and the performance of our campaigns. Data is shared with authorities only when legally required.
6. Storage & Security
Data is stored securely and transmitted over encrypted connections (SSL/TLS).
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR you may access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to certain processing. Contact us at nextpixel@nextpixel.fr.
8. Data Retention
Data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion, unless otherwise required by law.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
